If you are having a difficult time creating newsletter content for your business (regardless of the kind of newsletter you are building), pay attention to this section very closely.
One of the easiest, (and most effective ways) to create fresh and new content for your subscribers, is to use the “frequently asked questions” that you know your subscribers are asking right now…as inspiration to create the content for your website and newsletter in the future.
How do you do this in a step-by-step manner?
Step #1: “Put On Their Shoes” - Take the time to put yourself in the shoes of your community and “sit with the reality” that they are living inside of right now.
Step #2: “Think From Their Perspective” - Take the time to think about the questions and problems that your community is having, and write down everything that comes to mind.
Step #3: “It’s Time To Create” - Given everything you thought about and created from step #1, and step #2…now it is time to look at everything you wrote down, and figure out either the specific articles you can write and publish, or think about new sections you can create in your newsletter that will address these specific issues or challenges on a continual basis.

You may or may not have already figured out by now, but we as the Pursuit Newsletter Team already know that “creating content” is a very difficult thing to tackle for some newsletter owners.

Execute This: Attend Industry Events (Related To Your Topic)
When choosing to attend live events to build your newsletter business…
It is essential that you do a good job on the front end of the event researching how the event will run from “day to day.”
When you are clear on how it will run from day to day, and the many elements that will be included, then you will be able to effectively figure out exactly how to get the most out of it for your business.
When you decide to attend one of these events…
We recommend thinking about these specific elements below that will happen during the event, and execute things accordingly on your end that are in alignment with helping you achieve your newsletter business’s goal (in this case…generating more subscribers).
Element #1 - Think about how you want to leverage every personal connection you make to inspire them to sign up for your newsletter right then and there. (have a plan to do that with individuals in a non-threatening way where they make it their idea to sign up).
Element #2 - If there are specific advertising opportunities you could take advantage of at the event to directly promote your newsletter, and the frame/context of the specific advertising placement is in alignment with your newsletter’s landing page, figure out the best way to implement and execute it.
Element #3 - Bring specific marketing assets (leave behinds and/or business cards) that inspire people to visit your newsletter’s sign up page after the event is over.
Element #4 - Figure out who it would be smart for you to seek out and meet at the event…where you could potentially create a win/win relationship with them to collaboratively add value to each other.
Element #5 - By looking at the industry event itinerary across the multiple days of the event, and by paying attention to how it runs from day 1 through the end of the final day, think about all of other opportunities that make sense to leverage for you when it comes to growing your newsletter subscriber list. This is where your creativity will thrive! There are so many ways to maximize your time and money at big industry events depending on the topic of your newsletter.
At the end of the day…
One key benefit to using industry events to grow your subscriber list is that most of the subscribers that will join your newsletter list will have personally met you before signing up.
This creates a really profound connection between you and that subscriber that can potentially lead to even better things in the future!
